A sociopolitical pressure group in Oyo State, The Progressive Ideologues (TPI), has renewed its call for transparency from the federal representative of Ibarapa Central/North federal constituency, Hon. Adebayo Anthony Adepoju. The group is requesting that the lawmaker publicly list at least 70 of his constituents who allegedly benefited from the 160 job opportunities he claimed to have facilitated at the Federal Ministry, as stated in his midterm account of stewardship.

In a press release signed by Chairman Comrade Hamzat Ismail and Secretary Comrade Quadri Adetona, TPI expressed frustration over the lack of response from Hon. Adepoju regarding their repeated requests. The group noted that all attempts to obtain a list of beneficiaries have been unsuccessful, raising concerns about the authenticity of the lawmaker’s claims.

TPI stated that the inability to verify the beneficiaries, coupled with the minimal figures available, casts doubt on the claim of 160 job placements. The group emphasized the urgency of a response, warning that further delays could reinforce suspicions that Hon. Adepoju is making unsubstantiated promises to the people of Ibarapa, especially in light of ongoing doubts about his uncompleted projects and alleged fictitious employments.

Full Statement from The Progressive Ideologues (TPI)
To the attention of Hon. Adepoju Anthony, Representative of Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency,

Since July 15th, when you released your two-year scorecard titled “Navigating the Corridor of Power,” our group, The Progressive Ideologues (TPI), has made persistent efforts to verify the projects and initiatives you highlighted. Our investigations have revealed that many of these projects are difficult, if not impossible, to locate or verify, with some appearing to be mere figments of the imagination.

In response, we issued a public statement several weeks ago, widely published, requesting that you, as our federal representative, make public the list of at least 70 beneficiaries whom you claim to have assisted in securing civil service employment. We specifically asked for names, relevant details, and the origins of these beneficiaries.

As previously stated, our intention is not to discredit or undermine your efforts, but to provide an opportunity for you to demonstrate your commitment to transparency and to validate your claims of genuine support for Ibarapaland.

However, more than two weeks have passed without any feedback from you or your aides. Your claim of facilitating job opportunities for about 160 constituents has come under scrutiny, and it is only fair that you address this matter directly. Your response would bring much-needed clarity and closure to this issue.

It is imperative that you treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves, as it has the potential to strengthen the bond between you and your supporters. There is a growing perception that you have made empty promises to the people, with a series of questionable projects and alleged fictitious employments casting doubt on your credibility and integrity as a public servant.

We await your favorable reply.
