OOF Unveils 2025 Mathematics Competition and Sports Fiesta to Empower Ibarapa Youths

The Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) has announced the commencement of preparations for the 2nd Edition of the Olusegun Okanlawon Mathematics Competition and the 7th Edition of the Ibarapa Sport Fiesta, both scheduled to take place in December 2025 across the Ibarapa region of Oyo State.

According to a press statement signed by Sunday Adedokun Harshasha, Director of Media and Publicity for the Foundation, the two major events reflect OOF’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment, education, and community development through intellectual and athletic engagement.

The Olusegun Okanlawon Mathematics Competition, now in its second edition, will bring together secondary school students across Ibarapa in a contest designed to stimulate problem-solving skills and promote interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The statement noted that the specific dates for the competition will be announced soon, adding that the initiative aligns with OOF’s goal of nurturing analytical thinkers capable of competing and contributing meaningfully at national and global levels.

Similarly, the 7th Ibarapa Sport Fiesta, the region’s largest community sporting event will feature contests in soccer, draughts, Ayo Olopon, and the Ibarapa Marathon, which remains the flagship endurance race.
The Fiesta aims to promote grassroots sports development, healthy competition, and unity among communities, while also serving as a platform for discovering and nurturing raw athletic talent across the region.

Speaking of the upcoming events, the Chairman of the Foundation, Ambassador Engr. Dr. David Olusegun Okanlawon, emphasized OOF’s unwavering dedication to holistic youth development.

> “Our focus remains on total human development. We are committed to equipping young people intellectually through the Mathematics Competition and physically through the Sport Fiesta. December 2025 will mark another milestone in our collective effort to build a vibrant, capable, and visionary generation in Ibarapa,” he stated.


He called on schools, parents, and community leaders to support and encourage active participation in both initiatives.
