Olubadan Reaffirms Peaceful Coexistence in Ibadan, Says No Room for Religious Conflict

His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I), the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, has reiterated his commitment to sustaining religious harmony in the ancient city, declaring that there is no room for religious crisis in Ibadanland.

The monarch made this declaration while receiving a delegation from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at his palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, on Thursday.

“There cannot be religious crisis in Ibadanland, as there is no family compound without adherents of various faiths, particularly Christianity, Islam, and African Traditional Religion,” Oba Ladoja stated.

The revered monarch emphasized that every traditional ruler, including the Olubadan, is a father to all religious groups and must therefore promote unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among the faithful.

While appreciating the RCCG delegation for their visit, Oba Ladoja urged them to continue praying for peace and prosperity in Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.

In his address, the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, represented by Pastor Sola Adeyeye — a member of the church’s Board of Trustees and National Coordinator of the Royal Fathers’ Fellowship — congratulated Oba Ladoja on his ascension to the throne.

Pastor Adeboye also assured the monarch of the church’s spiritual support for peace, harmony, and divine guidance throughout his reign. He later offered prayers for long life and wisdom for the Olubadan, members of the Olubadan-in-Council, Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria.

Also present at the event were prominent Ibadan high chiefs, including Oba (Barr.) Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, the Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba (Sir) Kolawole Adegbola, the Otun Balogun; Oba John Olubunmi Isioye, the Osi Balogun; Oba Biodun Kola-Daisi, the Osi Olubadan Designate; Oba Salawudeen Amidu Ajibade, the Asipa Olubadan Designate; Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, the Ekerin Balogun; and Oba Muritala Adebayo Akande, the Ekerin Olubadan Designate.
