Illegal Abduction: An Eyesore Experience on Alhaji Azeez Maruff (Tula Oyo)

It’s a sad eye witness occurrence on the day Nigeria Army personnel flooded our environ, Alhaja Sara street in Cele Area of Oyo. On Thursday, November 18 2021 around 7:50am in the Morning.

The whole drama started when an unknown man from nowhere stood at the back of my Dad car parked outside the house .

Going on his usual way of life  that has become part of him, spraying maize for the domestic animals in the morning whenever he finish his prayer. He first noticed one man standing behind his car and go out back to check for security purpose and he noticed they have become two and then had to challenge them to know what they are looking for?

After he asked them who and what they are looking for, they duo replied in a volatile by trying to force him in with his towel being wrapped on his body that very day. After much disagreement, he told them that even if he will be going with them, they should allow him to change his towel to normal cloth wherein his relatives who are around already intervene to allow him change his cloth so for they claimed they asserted that his attention is needed for Interrogation alone.

Furthermore, in a twinkle of an eye, one of them made a signal and we noticed the excort enmasse with troops of Nigeria Army inside the Bus.

We pleaded to allow to let one of the relative follow them to at least know his whereabout of which they agreed. Upon the agreement, he was taken to OPERATION BURST OFFICE in OYO TOWN where they signed out and let me understand I can’t go with them to the next location they are taking him to. Without much hesitation, i quickly put a call through to my Brother which in turn makes him reach out to his Friends. They all met us at the scene. It should be stated that before taking him to an unknown location,he  was handcuffed, blindfolded and put inside the Golf  Car beofe they zoom off with the operation Burst OYO personnel escorting them.

To my surprised, he was brought home thay day around 10:45pm asking him to go and bring his smartphone which asked me to bring it where he normally kept it in his bedroom and I handed it over to those security personnel.

While taken him away I was glad that one of the personnel was able drop his contact which we have been trying to reach them in order to know his whereabout in which all efforts has being in futility.  Ever   since that day we have neither been able to see him nor talk to the breadwinner of our family in combination with his health status which they have denied him of his medication. Let it be on record that the act by the Nigeria Army In connivance with the Operation Burst in Oyo Zone isn’t in any way different from Abduction. It’s apparently clear that if there’s anything to qualify the illegal act by Nigeria Army can be equated to “Clear Kidnapping” by men in Uniform. On this note,it should be stated clearly at this point that the member of the Nigeria Army should as a matter of fact release my Dad who has not In any way commit any crime whatsoever. First,the attempt to arrest him could be dubbed as “ILLEGAL”. ” Power is Corrupt and absolute Power Corrupt Absolutely” as being ascribed by Aristotle. The Nigeria Army should understand that even if they are men in Uniform,the process,method and mode of operations by the Nigeria Army is unconstitutional and inhumane. How an earth will a Nigeria citizen be bundled up from his house without any clear cut Location? How will a Man who committed no offence be taken away with his face being blindfolded for more than 4 days? What crime has he committed to the level that what the Nigeria Army felt he can do is to molest an unharmed Civilian? All this beg for answers as soon as possible. My Dad is a responsible Person and he is a Peace Lover,The Nigeria Army should Follow all lawful means. Should anything happen to him the Nigeria Army should be hold responsible!!!
