Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for Oyo State in the 2023 election, has called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing that the nation’s fortunes hinge on steadfast support for the current administration. Speaking to some loyalists, Folarin asserted that a different outcome in the last presidential election would have led to dire consequences for Nigeria.
Folarin praised President Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing them as courageous and necessary sacrifices aimed at repositioning Nigeria on the global stage. He highlighted the President’s commitment to tackling longstanding issues of neglect, corruption, and economic stagnation, noting that Tinubu’s leadership has already begun to yield positive results.
“Had we made a different choice, Nigeria would have missed the road. Everything President Tinubu is doing is a sacrificial effort to place our nation on an enviable global pedestal. His strategic alliances with developed nations have been instrumental in renewing hope for our country,”
Folarin declared.
The senator’s remarks followed President Tinubu’s recent statements on the stabilization of the economy and the renewed interest from international investors. Tinubu had assured Nigerians that “the bleeding has stopped” and “the patient is alive,” signaling a turning point in the nation’s economic trajectory. Folarin echoed this sentiment, arguing that decisive action was essential to rescue Nigeria from years of mismanagement.
Folarin also pointed to tangible benefits arising from the administration’s policies, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies, which has led to a significant increase in monthly allocations to states.
