Eruwa Road Projects Approved, Totaling Over N4.1 Billion

The Oyo State Executive Council, led by Acting Governor Barr. Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, has given the green light for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of several key roads in Eruwa. A total of N4,146,068,573.56 was approved for two major projects with a completion period of 12 months.

The approved projects, which are part of a broader state-wide infrastructure initiative, include:

  1. Isaba-Ogundoyin Road, Eruwa: This project, measuring 0.75 kilometers, will undergo reconstruction to improve connectivity and ease of travel within the community.
  2. Lanlate Garage Junction-Local Government Junction-Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic-Oke Ola Junction Road, Eruwa: This extensive 1.9-kilometer road is also slated for reconstruction and rehabilitation. The project is expected to significantly benefit students, commuters, and local businesses.

Additional Projects Approved

During the same council meeting, several other high-impact projects were also approved to boost infrastructure and development across the state.

  1. Ojoo Interchange-IITA-Moniya Junction-Akinyele Interchange: Approved for N63,611,154,690.82, this 13.6-kilometer road will be reconstructed and rehabilitated into a dual six-lane carriageway. The project has an 18-month timeline.
  2. Okaka Junction-Otu-Igbojaiye-KAP Film Village Road: A sum of N26,482,664,312.33 was approved for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of this 30-kilometer road, including the construction of bridges over the Otu and Ofiki Rivers. The project duration is 18 months.
  3. Ajia Junction (Ibadan Ife Interchange)-Nigeria Air Force Base Road: This 6.2-kilometer road will be dualized at a cost of N17,187,255,757.07. The project is scheduled for completion within 12 months.
  4. Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road: An amount of N1,935,629,520.32 was approved for the completion of the 12-kilometer road and the expansion of the scope to include the 2.2-kilometer Akufo Farm Settlement Road.
  5. Road Maintenance: A total of N444,796,631.50 was allocated for limited patching of selected roads in the Ibadan metropolis, including thermoplastic road marking and kerb painting.
  6. Tree Planting: The state approved N108,044,103.50 for planting economic trees along a 32-kilometer section of the Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road in Ibadan.
  7. Sports Development: The council also approved N110,000,000 for camping and hosting the under-20 female national football team in preparation for the Women’s World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Rwanda.

Acting Governor Lawal underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure development, noting that these projects are essential for improving economic activity and the quality of life for residents across the state.
