Eruwa Born UI Graduate, Idowu Dorcas, Emerges Overall Best Corps Member in Bayelsa

A graduate of the University of Ibadan affliated with Federal College of Education, Osiele, Idowu Dorcas Opeyemi, has emerged the overall best corps member of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) at the passing out of 2021 batch A Stream II on Thursday.

Dorcas who graduated from the department of Christan Religious Studies (Teacher Education), hails from Duduyemi Sobaloju Compound
New Eruwa in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State.

While speaking with our crew, she said, “As bonafide daughter of the soil Eruwa, Ibarapa East, Oyo state. I made history in Bayelsa state on the 28th of April during POP. As I emerge as the overall best Corp member of the year 2021. I brought glory and not shame to the land.

“I had my personal projects, I did school bag of over 120 pieces for the less privileges. Also trained some widows and corps members on bag making. I had my sensitisation training on Girl Child Education where I thought them how to use pad, stigmatization attached to menstruation”

“At the orientation camp, I started from cooking in the kitchen, parade, sanitation before I was posted to the Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) at the Ministry of Education, Yenagoa”, she added.
