WhatsApp Groups Can Now Add Up To 512 Contacts

The messaging platform owned by Meta announced this while announcing the release of the highly anticipated message reactions feature.

The ability to add more members to a group has begun progressively rolling out to users.

The new limit will be double the present maximum of 256 members per WhatsApp group.

The feature has begun rolling out gradually to users, and we anticipate that it will soon be accessible to all Android and iOS users.

This will be a welcome development for many, particularly for groups with a huge membership base. However, this is far less than Telegram’s 20,000 member cap, which is another popular messaging network.

In addition, WhatsApp has begun rolling out the capability to communicate files up to 2GB in size, which will be decrypted end-to-end. This will be a huge increase over the previous file size restriction of 100MB.

The messaging platform suggests using Wi-Fi for large file transfers, and a progress indicator will now be displayed during the transfer process. This functionality debuted in the most current WhatsApp beta.

As you well know, users have begun to get message reactions, and the most recent versions of the program now support them. To respond to a message, users can just long-press it and choose from six emoji options.

WhatsApp has stated that it will soon introduce more emoji variations, similar to what Instagram offers.

Recall that the messaging giant also formally announced Communities for group administrators to easily administer their groups in an one location, although it remains to be seen whether the feature will be made available to other users.
