Ughelli Youths Holds Rally For Peter Obi
There was heavy human and vehicular traffic in Ughelli town in Delta State on Thursday as the youths in ughelli came out in their numbers during a solidarity rally in support of the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi.
The rally which was organized by a group of youths under the umbrella of Delta Coalition for Peter obi also sensitized residents of Ughelli on the need to obtain their Permanent Voters Card in readiness for 2023 general elections.
The peaceful rally which started at Ughelli township stadium proceeded to Otovwodo market, Isoko road to Ughelli main market and to Ekiugbo junction. From Ekiugbo junction, they went through Ughelli Warri Express to Amekpa and finally to Afiesere town.
Despite the heavy downpour, the rally witnessed impressive turnout of youths and elderly people who declared their support for the Labour party presidential candidate as they walked in the rain ..
The convener of the group Habath Okotie, while speaking to newsmen said “We the youths in Ughelli came together and said we are going to sensitize residents to go and get their PVCs so that we can exercise our franchise during the 2023 general election.
One of the supporters, Ayo Millan , said that Mr Obi will bring a turnaround in the country.
“I am here because of Peter Obi. Nobody paid us a dime to be here. We are here because we are tired of the way things are going on in this country,” he said.
According to Ovo Erhabor, Blessing Oguma, Gborogen Terry, Ehis Uyigue and other stakeholders, We want a new system and we know that Peter Obi can drive us to where we want to be. We are here so that posterity would hold us accountable for fighting for a better Nigeria. We want a Nigeria where it is okay for everyone to sleep with both eyes closed.”
