Tpl Adesokan Mourn Alaafin of Oyo

Lanlate born town planner and Oyo State House of Assembly hopeful in Ibarapa East Constituency under the All Progressive Congress (APC), Tpl.(Dr) Adesokan Samuel who traced his origin from  Old Oyo Empire of Abiodun Alaafin has commiserated with the people of Oyo and the entire people of the nation on the demise of the first class monarch in Oyo State, late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.

A statement by the house of assembly candidate, describes the death of the late Alaafin as a monumental loss to the country and most especially the Yoruba people.

Adesokan, who prayed for the repose of the monarch soul, extended his profound condolence to the immediate family, Oyo indigenes, Yoruba sons and daughters, and the entire people of Nigeria.‎

“Oba Lamidi, old before death but it is very unfortunate that the he died at this period that we all need his elderly experience, knowledge in achieving a positive development at levels of government.

“It is on record that Oba Lamidi Adeyemi lived the largest part of his life to serve humanity in general and fought the course of his subjects at the levels where he had served, as a traditional ruler,” the statement read.

Alaafin Adeyemi, the third from the Alowolodu Ruling House, died in the late hours of Friday at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State in South-West Nigeria.

He was 83 years old and the longest reigning Alaafin ever, having ruled for 52 years.
