Taraba APC: Six Governorship Aspirants Threaten To Leave Party

Six(6) out of seven (7) Governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State says no primary election was held in Taraba State as alleged by the party’s electoral committee saddled with the responsibility of conducting the APC Governorship election in Taraba State. 

They call on the national body of the party to conduct a free and fair election in Taraba State, or loose the party’s long standing structure in Taraba State. 

Speaking on behalf of the six APC Governorship aspirants in Taraba State, the Senator representing Taraba Central Yusuf Yusuf says they are looking up to the national body of the party to intervene.

Insisting that no election was held, but the chairman of the electoral commitee from the national body of the party Lawrence Onuchukwu,  announced Emmanuel Bwacha as the Governorship candidate of the party at the Danbaba Suntai Airport,  few minutes before his flight to Abuja.

The aggrieved aspirants want the national body of APC to conduct a Governorship primary election in Taraba State,  or they seek other alternatives. 

Meanwhile Emmanuel Bwacha reiterates that his victory is valid, and calls on other contestants to close ranks and sheath their swords.

Taraba APC aspirants and stakeholders had differ on the mode of the Governorship primary election. 

While some insist that indirect primary be adopted for the State by it’s national body,  others wanted a direct primary election for the Governorship seat.
