Ibarapa North Supervisor For Education, Olaore Debunks Assault Allegation, Says Publication Is Libellous

…Vows to seek redress in Court if publication not…

Embattled Supervisor for Education in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, Musa Olaore has refuted allegation of assault leveled against him on the Council Secretary, Mr. Nasiru Adepoju by Asako Reporters.

He described the allegation as libellous, falsely attempt to damage his integrity on social media.

Asako Reporters had on July 25, 2023 published a news with the heading “IBARAPA NORTH 2024: Local Government Scribe beaten to stupor by Supervisory Councilor for supporting Local Government Boss Against Kinsman“.

“The Ibarapa North Local Government Legislative Council has suspended Mr.Musa Olaore Abuldsalm (Supervisory Councilor for Education) indefinitely over an assault allegation leveled against him by the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Nasiru Adepoju Adeyemi.

Asako reporters alleged that the suspended Supervisor was involved in beating the Council Secretary, Mr. Nasiru Adepoju, an indigene of Tapa, for supporting the second term bid of the Executive Chairman, Lateef Adebare Akorede against his kinsman, Siji Ganiyu.

Musa Olaore in his reaction to the publication claimed that the allegation is false

In a statement made available to journalist on Friday, the embattled Supervisor expressed concern over the manner which the media outlet, Asako Reporters skewed the narratives to condemn his person and mislead the public.

The statement reads in full;

LIBELLOUS PUBLICATION AGAINST THE PERSON OF MR MUSA OLAORE BY ASAKO REPORTERS

I, Mr. Musa Olaore, the Supervisor for Education in Ibarapa North Local Government, hereby write to address a recent publication that has been circulating the social media, published by a media outlet, Asako Reporters (https:www.asakorereporters.com) which falsely accused me to have orchestrated and supervised the beating of Mr. Nasiru Adepoju, the Secretary to Ibarapa North Local Government, and other PDP leaders at Tapa.

This highly damaging publication was captioned; IBARAPA NORTH 2024: Local Government Scribe beaten to stupor by Supervisory Councilor for supporting Local Government Boss against Kinsman.

Initially I do not believe the news, since it was on the social media, not until I saw and read the printed letter signed by its author which was acknowledged by the Executive Chairman, Honourable Lateef Adebare Lawal, to the Leader of the Council Legislature, “Pls treat is matter of urgency (sic).”

I wish to unequivocally state that the allegations against me are baseless and lacks merit. I had no involvement, whatsoever, in the incident that led to the unfortunate beating of Mr. Nasiru Adepoju and the other individuals mentioned in the publication.

I want to reassure the public that I am innocent of all the accusations leveled against me by the author of the letter, Mr Nasiru Adepoju.

Since I was appointed as the Supervisor for Education in the Local Government, I have been dedicated to serving the local government with integrity, diligence, and commitment to the principles of justice and fairness. The false allegations leveled against me were made out of mischief intended to tarnish my image then cause disaffection between me and the good people of Tapa in particular and the Local Government in general.

I was surprised to see the suspension been published online, and even up till now, am yet to receive any official invitation, either for questioning or investigation from any tier of the local government; executive or legislative, neither do I got a notification of suspension.

How would the House have suspended me based on a letter written by a co-appointee of the local government without inviting me for interrogation?

It would have been better if I had been invited and interrogated by the House before reaching the hasty conclusion of suspending me from office which only surfaced online.

The hurried manner with which the House had allegedly suspended me has shown that there is more to the issue than meet the eyes. It is a political game plan which shall fall flat on the face of its hatchers.

I am using this direct message to debunk the said publication as mere rumor with no substantial evidence. I implore everyone to exercise caution and discernment when consuming information from various sources, especially when such is circulated on the social media. It is essential to seek the truth before making judgments that can have far-reaching consequences.

However, I wish to assure all the good people of Tapa in particular and Ibarapa North Local Government in general, as well as all my well-wishers that fabrications like that which was circulated on social media will not deter me from giving my best to my community and local government.

There is no doubt that the publication has caused me and my family unquantifiable damage emotionally and socially. My person has been so much maligned just as the good name of my family which we hold so dearly with pride and dignity has been smeared by this injurious publication.

In the sustenance of harmony and as a man who grew up from a home and community that cherish peace, I am using this medium to kindly request the media outlet that disseminated this libelous news to retract the publication with immediate effect. Furthermore, I seek a public apology unequivocally from the blog and the bloggers who published the news. Though the damage has already been done, the retraction and apology will help to a large extent in clearing my name and lessening the harm which the publication has caused to my character and reputation.

I want to reiterate that I am prepared to take any legal action to protect my good name and image should the news outlet in question fails to heed my request for a retraction and apology. I may be left with no other option than to seek redress in a court of law for the damages this false publication caused my person. I believe in the rule of law and I am confident that justice will prevail in due course.

To my well-wishers, I am grateful for your understanding and support during this challenging time. I remain committed to serving my community and local government, and upholding the values that unite us as a harmonious and peaceful society.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Musa Olaore
Supervisor for Education, Ibarapa North Local Government, Oyo State, Nigeria.

You Are Failing Us, Students Blast Ibarapa Politicians

The Apex students’ union body in Ibarapa land and other indigenous students’ unions in the seven principal towns in the region have written an open letter to all political office holders in Ibarapa land.

The copy of the letter which was jointly signed by the President of the Federation of Ibarapa Students’ Association (FIBSA), Com. Gabriel Timileyin Micheal and six other Students Union Presidents from Lanlate, Eruwa, Igboora, Idere, Ayete and Tapa partly read: “The Ibarapa we live today, throughout the federation, has the poorest road network, poorest electricity discharge, in fact, electricity wise, Ibarapa is in total BLACKOUT, so darkened and poor security pose, of all predicaments we are embattling with.”

The students union leaders, in the open letter, lamented lack of scholarship for the students of the region from their political office leaders, alleging that one of the lawmakers representing the constituency, Hon. Saubana Ajibola Muraina, despite giving the students’ body listening ears, had one time, announced scholarship offer for the students of his constituency only for him to share the same offer with members of his political party alone.

“Hon. Saubana Muraina, you have been giving us listening ear, we requested for a student bus and a Secretariat from you, of which you made it known to your best reason that you won’t do so, fine, how about the scholarship and sponsorship you promised us? It’s all out there that you are sponsoring and giving STUDENTs scholarship whereas FIBSA National as the Apex STUDENT ASSOCIATION in Ibarapa and other indigenous PRESIDENTs ain’t aware, you keep doing it to your party faithfuls and leaders. It is high time you changed, be reminded that people vote you, not party faithfuls alone, get to your leaders and party faithfuls on other grounds, not on STUDENT dealings, our right is our right.”

The students body also called out on the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin representing Ibarapa East State Constituency whom they described as a youth politician without impact. According to the students leaders, “It is not even appealing to us that we have a Speaker from our zone, ain’t you still young and egalitarian enough to spring out your potentials?,” They asked.

Hon. Peter Ojedokun, member of Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibarapa Central/North State Constituency was also not spared in the open letter. The union leaders asked rhetorically if they should call Hon. Ojedokun a failure.

“To Hon. Peter Ojedokun, do we call you a total failure?. The landmark promises free education, good road network, constant electricity, people welfarism, sound economy. Checking further, we seem not to enjoy the afformentioned.”

“If we do not ask you, who then do we ask? We voted you all to power, be reminded that if you do not listen to us at this crucial point we need you most, we won’t listen when you all would be needing us.”

While congratulating Hon. Yemi Taiwo, member House of Representatives representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency on his birthday, the students said they had tried to meet the lawmaker on different occasions but all to no avail.

“Hon. Oluyemi Taiwo, today is your birthday, we join your well wishers to wish you a prosperous year ahead, since we have been requesting to meet you, you keep promising you’d return to us when you are back from ABUJA, be humbly reminded that you are representing us in Abuja, if not our requests, what then are you levelling on at the Green Chambers?.

Meanwhile, the students said only Hon. Lateef Akorede was educationally conscious among the public office holders in the region, announcing that his contribution has been on a decline lately too.

They also asked rhetorically if they should call the duo of Hon. Gbenga Obalowo and Hon. Adeoye Adedoyin, Chairmen for Ibarapa East and Ibarapa Central respectively as ceremonial figures.

“In fact, since our emergence as what we are, it’s only Hon. Lateef Akorede that has been of educational conscious, in one of his release through his media aide from his office, promised to support FIBSA NATIONAL to all length, at the moment, we look forward to him dispensing more functionaries, your promises are crawling. Perhaps nothing to write about other local government chairmen in the zone, HON. GBENGA OBALOWO and HON. ADEOYE ADEDOYIN respectively, do we say they are ceremonial figure?.”

“Our right is our right. Enough of you making it seem like, doing so is a privilege.”

“We look forward to hearing from you all. WE WANT BURSARY AND SCHOLARSHIP,” He said.

6)HON. GBENGA OBALOWO (EXECUTIVE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN IBARAPA EAST).
7)HON. ADEDOYIN ADEOYE (EXECUTIVE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN IBARAPA CENTRAL)

With instinct regard to all worthy personnel, we are literally obliged to commend your efforts so far in the local government and in the constituencies mentioned above,
do we say it’s obvious, momentarily that you are representing us? However, we are no longer appreciating them, as we are lagging in many strata.
The ibarapa we live today, throughout the federation has the poorest road network and poorest electricity discharge. Infact, electricity wise, Ibarapa is in total and epic blackout, scaryingly dark, and of security threats.

Though numerous are the predicaments we are embattling, we wouldn’t want to deviate from our main target – Quest for STUDENT bursary and scholarship!
Infact, since our emergence as students’ leaders, it’s only HON. LATEEF AKOREDE that has been conscious of educational needs and welfare. In one of his release through his media aide from his office, he promised to support FIBSA NATIONAL to all length, at the moment, we look forward to him dispensing more dividends of democracy. Your promises are crawling.

Do we say both HON. GBENGA OBALOWO and HON. ADEOYE ADEDOYIN are ceremonial figures?

To HON OLUYEMI TAIWO, today is your birthday, we joined other well wishers to wish you prosperous years ahead. Since we have been requesting to meet you, you keep promising you’d get back to us when you are back from ABUJA. Be humbly reminded that you are representing us and our joint interests at the green chamber, Abuja.
HON. SAUBANA MURAINA, you have been giving us listening ear, we requested for a student bus and a Secretariat from you, of which you made it known that you won’t grant, fine, but how about the scholarship and sponsorship you promised us, it’s all out there that you are sponsoring and giving STUDENTs scholarship whereas fibsa National as the Apex STUDENT ASSOCIATION in Ibarapa and other indigenous PRESIDENTs ain’t aware, you keep doing it to your party faithfuls and leaders, it is high time you change for better, and give us our dues with fairness. Be reminded that people vote you, not party faithfuls alone, get to your leaders and party faithfuls on other grounds, not on STUDENT dealings, our right is our right.

To HON ADEBO OGUNDOYIN, it’s not even appealing to us that we have a speaker from our zone. Ain’t you still young and egalitarian enough to spring out your potentials?

To HON. PETER OGEDOKUN, do we call you a total failure?

The promises we were given include: free education, good road network, constant Electricity, people welfarism, sound economy.

When we checked however, we seem not to enjoy any of the afformentioned anymore.
If we do not ask you, who then do we ask, we voted you all represent us in public offices. Be reminded that if you do not listen to us at this crucial point we need you most, we won’t listen when you all would need us.

Our right is our right, enough of you making it look like you are doing a favour or charity.

We look forward to hearing from you all, WE WANT BURSARY AND SCHOLARSHIP.
