OOF President Celebrates Ibarapa Youths On International Youth Day, Urges To Be More Productive

The Founder and President of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF), Engr. (Dr) David Olusegun Okanlawon has joined the teeming youth of Ibarapa in commemorating the 2024 International Youth Day.

Okanlawon in a press statement issued by his Media Aide, Adedokun Sunday Harshasha admonished the youths to be more productive to enhance the development of the zone.

He expressed his interest in supporting youth in Ibarapa, particularly the skilled and talented ones who are ready to be useful to themselves and the community.

While extending his felicitations to the youth on the occasion of the 2024 International Youth Day, the young energetic philanthropist conveyed his wishes for a remarkable celebration, said, “It is a day set aside by the United Nations to recognize the potential, achievements and contributions of young people in nation building across the globe

Okanlawon acknowledged the importance of youths in nation building, saying that the youths are important actors in the process of progress and development of the society, he emphasized that the time is now for building a united and more developed Ibarapa.

“We are obliged to the development of our society, we have partnered with many individuals in raising their potential, making their dreams come true, some of them are empowered in their various skilled works, we have some that are on scholarship spread across various higher institutions of learning in the country”, he added.

International Youth Day: Ibarapakan Lauds Nigerian Youth, Promises All-inclusive Representation

The lawmaker representing Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Adebayo Anthony Adepoju, politically known as Ibarapakan, has celebrated Nigerian youth, particularly those in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Areas of Oyo State, on the occasion of the 2023 International Youth Day.

Addressing the youth on Saturday, the federal lawmaker, Hon. Adepoju Anthony in a statement made available by his Special Adviser on Media, Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye said the interest of the youth in the federal constituency will be prioritize.

In his remarks, Dr. Adepoju described Nigeria as a country blessed with able and talented young people, noting that if the potential of the Nigerian young people is harnessed, Nigeria will be the most sought-after destination for citizens who have the solutions to a multitude of problems confronting the world.

The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Federal Character, reiterated his commitment to launching vocational training that will give room for technical knowledge, expertise, and skills in order to achieve the theme for this year’s International Youth Day, which is Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.

According to him, empowering the youth is the business of both the private and public sectors at all levels of government, stating that the interests of youth in Ibarapa Central/North will be prioritised in order for them to be empowered so as to contribute to the development of the region, Nigeria, and the world at large. 

Hon. Adepoju also used International Youth Day to commend Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for being a trailblazer in guaranteeing youth participation in governance through his appointment processes into various political offices since 2019.

Ibarapakan, however, assured the constituents in Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency that there would soon be a data collection of graduates who have not been gainfully employed in the last five years (2018–2023).

He said the aim of the data collection is to enable his team to plan strategically and make data-driven decisions in the federal constituency.

The lawmaker also maintained that beyond his individual contribution to empowering the youth of the constituency, he will not hesitate to raise motions and sponsor bills that gear towards creating opportunities for the youth of the constituency and the country at large.
