Progressive Lost A Great Icon, Adewusi Commiserate Demise Of Chief Lasunsi

Ex-Post Master General of the Federation, Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi has described the death of Chief Silas Lasunsi as a loss for the progressive family, community and nation at large.

In a statement signed by Ojediran Biodun, a special aide to the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) ex-boss, said the demise had marked the end of an eventful era of a politician”.

“This is a great loss to all, particularly the progressive family, Idere Community and Ibarapa where Chief Lasunsi made his marks.

“Baba was a strong, dedicated and committed progressive, he contributed immensely from his wealth of experience and commitment to the development of Ibarapa.

“Chief Lasunsi did not just build bridges among people of different communities in Ibarapa and outside the state.

“While he was on earth, he distinguished himself in the progressive fold where he played a critical role towards the development of the zone and Oyo state.

It added that Chief Lasunsi will be remembered for his contributions to the growth of our community, leadership prowess in the progressive.

Also prayed that God grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort his family community and the progressive.

Chief Silas Lasunsi died on Thursday after a brief illness. He was aged 97.

Idere Community Lost A Rare Gem, House Of Representatives Hopeful Okanlawon Mourns Pa Lasunsi

The Accord Party candidate for the Federal House of Representatives in Ibarapa Central/North Constituency, Engr. (Dr) David Olusegun Okanlawon has commiserated with the people of Idere and well wishers over the death of a progressive chieftain, Chief Silas Okunlola Lasunsi who died on Thursday after brief illness.

Okanlawon who expressed sympathy through a message shared on his social media handle and made available to our correspondent said Idere Community has lost a rare gem.

He said, “I join the entire Idere community to share in this grief over the demise of a passionate community builder, a leader per excellence, Chief Silas Lasunsi who slept in the Lord today, 13th of October, 2022.

“Baba was an astute leader, an upright person worthy of emulation. He dedicated his entire life to human and community development and such is seen in his track records of sustainable developmental facilitations during his time in active community services.

“Idere community loss a rare gem. Our prayers are that may he rest eternally in the Bossom of the Lord and may the family be granted the fortitude to bear this loss.”

Aderounmu Condoles With APC Over Death Of Party Chieftain, Lasunsi

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) house of assembly candidate in Ibarapa East State Constituency, Bayo Aderounmu has expressed sympathy with the people of Idere, Ibarapa and the party over the death of a party chieftain, Chief Silas Okunlola Lasunsi who died on Thursday.

Aderounmu, who expressed this through his media campaign office on Thursday, prayed that the soul of the deceased rest in perfect peace and God to grant the families, the leaders and members of the party in Ibarapa and Oyo State at large the fortitude to bear the loss.

The house of assembly hopeful said: “I commiserate with the people of Idere, Ibarapa, Oyo State and Nigeria at large, most especially the All Progressive Congress families State, over the death of our father and leader.

“On behalf of the house of assembly candidate of our great party in Ibarapa East State Constituency, Bayo Aderounmu, we commiserate with the family and our party leaders in the state.

“The nonagenarian lived an impactful life, a life of care for his community and party. He will be sorely missed.”

He prayed that the deceased rest in peace and also comfort the family, party and loved ones.

Chief Silas Lasunsi is almost 98 years old before he died.
