‘Stop Parading Yourself As FASU President’ Group Describes Proscribed President as Mugabe of Ibarapaland
A group in Ibarapa, Redemption Forum (RF) has berated the proscribed President of Federation of Ayete Students’ Union (FASU), Fadeyi Isiaq for “parading himself as Union President” despite the proscriptive state of the Union.
This was made known in a statement jointly signed by the Imperial, Surrogate Coordinator and Secretary of the Association, Sefiu Ojebisi, Saheed Olaosun and Kafayat Muritala respectively.
It will be recalled that Federation of Ayete Students’ Union has been proscribed following the disruption which led to chaos in the 2019 electioneering process.
The copy of the statement titled “The Need For The Mugabe of FASU, Aliky To Stop Parading Himself As The Union President”, received by Ayete Info partly read: “Redemption Forum, a group of well groomed, disciplined and upright individuals in the Ayete Community hereby calls the attention of the entire students of Ibarapa land including the lovers of peace in the region that Com. Isiaq Fadeyi popularly known as Aliky is not in anyway the President of the Federation of Ayete Students’ Union and by virtue of that pronouncement, has no constitutional right to be Senate Member of FIBSA, the same illegality that the former Senate President, Soji Ogunlowo condoned throughout his tenure.”
“It is not just abysmal but also appalling that Aliky who was elected as the President of FASU in 2017 is still parading himself as the President of the Association even when the constitution of the union clearly states that one can only spend a period of 2 years in office. One wonders why Aliky, a member of the proscribed union in Ayete still calling himself President in 2021, worst still, the same union he claims to be the head was proscribed late 2019.”
In the statement, the RF revealed that the embattled President, Isiaq Fadeyi (Aliky) spearheaded the proscription of FASU, that he was asked by Asawo of Ayeteland, HRM Oba Ewuola Borisabunmi Aremu to choose either election or proscription “in which Aliky brazenly said “proscription”.
“The event that led to the proscription of FASU in Ayete was such that holds unwholesome but insalubrious memories and it would amount to nothing but disrespect to the traditional rulers and elders in the community who took their time to appease the aggrieved parties in the union, but which this same Aliky insisted that proscription was the best option for the union’ “in order for peace to reign in the community.”
“The same Isiaq Fadeyi (Aliky), the self acclaimed FASU President and the-then FASU Speaker, Dauda Uthman were asked by Asawo of Ayete and other Chiefs in Council to choose either election or proscription at the end of their tenure on December 28, 2019 in which Aliky and Uthman brazenly said “proscription”. Can Aliky and Uthman eat their cake and have it? Why will Aliky and Uthman who never believed in the existence of FASU continue to call themselves the Union’s Representatives? For how long will Aliky remain the Union’s President and for how long will Uthman remain the Union’s Speaker? Will Aliky and Uthman summon the “àró” and “òdòfin” in them and respect the traditional rulers of Ayete, elders in the community as well as the union’s constitution?
“If youths like Isiaq Fadeyi and his cohorts could be supporting tenure elongation and petty students’ politics at this prime age of theirs, one wonders the future hope of Ibarapa land when these elements finally find their way into mainstream politics.
“Federation of Ibarapa Students’ Association does not need characters like Isiaq and his cohorts whose style of politics is nothing short of blatant brigandage and sheer disregard to the elderly and the young in Ayete. To even say such character (Aliky) is allowed as Senate Member at FIBSA level is an abuse to every form of sound reasoning and logic; and a dirty game on the part of the just dissolved FIBSA National President and Senate President, Oladimeji ‘Feranmi Ogunjobi and Soji Ogunlowo respectively, who visited Asawo’s palace last year on a motive of reviving FASU and heard from the traditional rulers that the controversial self-acclaimed FASU President, Aliky insisted that FASU be proscribed before the community and Ayete Progressive Union.” RF said.
However, RF beseeched the FIBSA Electoral Committee to “take a look into this lingering issue so as for them to conduct a free and fair election devoid of controversy.
“We are also aware of the shenanigans of Aliky who is hell-bent on presenting Delegates from Ayete for the FIBSA election scheduled to hold in December this year.
“As long as FASU is still on suspension as orchestrated by Aliky, the issue of delegation selection from Ayete must be carefully handled so as to ensure peace and stability.
“We hereby repose our confidence in the newly constituted FIBSA Electoral Committee chaired By Sen. Lawrence Adepoju Oluwasetemi and hope that all the excesses and atrocities of Aliky will be properly investigated.” RF said.
