The Chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Ibarapa East Local Government Eruwa, Olugbenga Obalowo has called on the people of the area to sustain peace before, during and after the election.

This was contained in a press statement released by the candidate on his social media pages on Wednesday evening. The release quoted,

“My dear Good people of Ibarapa East Local Government home and abroad, is high time to put politics aside and embrace peace, harmony and kick against hatred talk about personality of one another to gain selfish interest which is only weapon that can drive our community to a progressive level, don’t let us forget that beyond politics, we are all blood brothers and nothing is worth separating us.
We all have different opinions and we may not all agree on the same things. Building compromise and mutual understanding is incredibly important. Sometimes we simply need to agree to disagree and recognise that there are different beliefs and forms of expression other than our own which  is extremely important in achieving unity.
Hatred, conflict and violence is never the answer. Peace can only be brought through free will, dialogue, empathy and forgiveness.
Dont let us stoop to same level as someone who is violent and therefore continue the vicious cycle. This does not change anything.
Vehemence is not the best action for us at this crucial time, let’s come together as community, discuss and find lasting solution to our problems.
The traditional ruler, the community leaders, The religion leaders, household and individual I challenge you all…
Let’s join hand together to promote one another and our community at large”
