Oyo APC Congress: Adesokan express dissatisfaction over Party Local Congress, Sues for Unity
An Aspirant for Oyo State House of Assembly in Ibarapa East under the platform of All Progressive Congress has expressed his displeasure over the last local congress of the party.
Town Planner Samuel Adesokan stated this while speaking with our correspondent. He said that the situation he noticed in the early hours of Saturday at Eleruwa stadium which was the venue of Ibarapa East Local Congress was not encouraging at all, he said a situation where two factions held different congresses at the same premise under the same party.
Adesokan disclosed his total displeasure to newsmen, he said if the party is to win future election there’s need to unite as bunch of broom which is our party logo.
Adesokan said, “I am unhappy with last Saturday APC Local Congress in Ibarapa East which is my Constituency.
“Broom symbolize oneness and togetherness. If we are to follow that tempo, it means we all have to bury our ego to have one house, division in our house can never take us anywhere. Inability to match our differences before the Local congress led us into parallel Congress with two set of local executives in our party.
Adesokan further admonished the leaders of the party at wards, local, state and National level to settle the rift in the overall interest of the political party.
“As an aspirant, I belong to all groups because we are all in the same party. We must not allow our house to stand against itself. We should also learn from our previous mistakes that aided the party loss in the bye election and 2019 general election. We must not allow the leadership tussle to cause divisibility as we prepare for future election”, he added.
