The convener Ibarapa Merit Award, Olajiire Anifowose has said the insecurity in Ibarapa land since the last quarter of 2020 and first half of the year 2021 is the reason why the brand wouldn’t organise her second edition this year.
Anifowose said this on Sunday in Igboora, at a media parley with some media organizations at Heritage Resorts Hotel, Igboora.
The director PremPremMusic and organizers of IbarapaMeritAward/MissIbarapaBeautyContest during his opening remark said that the brand is the most pained of all that happened in IbarapaLand during the first half of this year.
At the meeting were the management of MissIbarapa/Ibarapa MeritAward, representatives of several media houses in Ibarapa land including Asako Reporters, Ayete Info, Ibarapa Parrot among others.
Mr Olajiire stated “the rate of insecurity in our communities in the last quarter of the year and first half of this year has taken huge dimension with reported banditry, killings and kidnappings. This ugly trend is what spur us to cease the second year edition to hold this year because we already started well with good reputation which our brand wouldn’t like to drag into mud.
He stated that the beauty queens in collaboration with the brand PremPremMusic have alot of plans and other activities that their office will be doing but unfortunately we faced the biggest challange in IbarapaLand during the first half of the year.
He added that the inception of IMA gave all of us opportunity to meet so many people aside from the winners of the beauty contest from Ibarapa land. He however said he’s looking forward to another big edition which will be coming up in year 2022 .
When asked if he already started the plan for this year, the director Olajire Anifowose Popularly known as DJCandy said he has paid for over 50% of what is needed for IMA2021 until the whole plan was called off due to the security challenges the whole IbarapaLand faced.
