Ibarapa Central/North 2023: Accord Party Settles for Olusegun Okanlawon
Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency of the Accord Party (AP) has affirmed that the founder of Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation, Engr (Dr) David Olusegun Okanlawon, is the party candidate for the forthcoming house of representatives election.
The affirmation was made on Tuesday at Baba Aso hall, Igbo-ora.
Okanlawon who spoke with SpyGist Media said, “I am glad to have received the Accord Party ticket to run for the Representative of Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency during 2023 general elections. I thank our party leadership and members for the trust reposed in me. I want to assure you that you did not make a mistake with this trust.”
“It is not longer news that the All Progressive Congress (APC) refused to hold primary elections for candidate contesting for both Oyo State House of Assembly and Federal House of Representatives in Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency. Rather, they submitted themselves to undemocratic practice and sank the party’s remaining value in the mud. Hence, every democratic and right thinking individual could see enough reasons why a relationship with such a party in Oyo state needs to be reviewed.”
He also said, “I chose to join Accord Party as the party which is virile platform to continue our quest to reset the vision and direction of our constituency. Through this party, we the people will show our strength by wrestling power from those forces of stagnation, who consider us as their inheritance. We will win the victory and start the movement in a right direction.”
“This is not a fight for personal gain. Instead, it’s a quest for our liberation from the shackles and bondages of our oppressors, those who choose self imposition over community interest.”
“Dear fellow constituents, Accord Party has become our home, our solace, and at the point of convergence for everyone who would not abandon their quest for a better and productive region nor trade their region for bribes or tokens. The strength of all parties remain the people, let us unite to go accordingly to achieve our much desired Ibarapa. Let’s do it, he added.”
Olusegun Okanlawon hails from Idere in Ibarapa Central Local Government. He attended Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo and graduated from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) and a Master in Business Administration(MBA) from the same institution. He is a member of Nigeria Institute of Highway Transportation Engineers.
