The House of Representatives Candidate in Ibarapa Central and North constituency under the platform of Accord Party, Engr. (Dr) David Olusegun Okanlawon has offered a set of twins, Taiwo Opeoluwa and Kehinde Iyanuoluwa Ominiyin from Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government of Oyo State a full-time scholarship.
The founder of Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) expressed this in a newsletter released on Wednesday, he stated that the offer of scholarship takes effect from the registration of 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) till the end of their tertiary education in their choice of Nigerian Higher Institution.
Okanlawon said the two young girls had make their ways in the last West Examination Council despite mass failure of students statewide in the exercise, but were optimistic of the turn their academic future would take having lost their mother and their father’s health dwindling.
It was gathered that a teaching staff member in their school, Mr. Ismail Adesina, who inquired the plight of the twin sisters who were passionate to further their education but would not be able to due to financial constraint alerted the foundation for help and upon investigation, OOF swiftly pledged to take further responsibility of their education.
Taiwo and Kehinde Ominiyin, having been numbered among beneficiaries of OOF full-time scholarship offer, according to Okanlawon, totalling the list to 22 in the region and beyond.
Recall that in 2020, a 14-year old boy from Idere in Ibarapa Central, Mubarak Oladimeji (Tansho) was accorded same opportunity having featured with his talent in crooning Fuji music in a comedy skit that was viral to celebrate 35th birthday of Okanlawon.
A similar development, one Faith Akindele who had lost her father to a bloody attack on Igangan community during farmer-herders clash also made the list of Okanlawon’s full-time scholarship beneficiaries in 2021.
A number of developmental projects and other philanthropic acts have been facilitated by the young politician through his foundation, a non-governmental organization famous for its enormous socioeconomic contribution to the advancement of Ibarapa, building capacities and restoring hope of the young folks.
Describing the new beneficiaries of the offer as “stars that will shine”, Okanlawon prayed for the progress of the young girls beyond the stage of the late mother and God will grant their father, family and Ibarapa a great joy.

SCHOLARSHIP ALERT
I am glad to inform you that by the grace of God, we have added two promising young ladies to the beneficiaries to the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) full scholarships. They are a set of twins, Taiwo Opeoluwa Ominiyi and Kehinde Iyinoluwa Ominiyi, from Igangan. With them, the total tally of OOF full scholarships beneficiaries in Ibarapa and beyond comes to 22.
The twin sisters lost their mother sometimes last year and are the health of their father who has been nurturing them is dwindling. Notwithstanding, they passed the 2022 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations in flying colours despite widespread failure in Oyo State and beyond.
During their recently-held valedictory service, an OOF volunteer, Mr Ismail Adeshina, who was a teacher in their school noticed that they were crying bitterly. He approached them and inquired about what was wrong. They expressed their fear of not being able to further their education despite their good results amidst their family’s recent financial status.Â

Ismail reached out to report their situation and we are delighted to offer them full scholarship throughout their tertiary education. That is, their scholarship takes effect immediately, from preparation and registration for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to admissions support into their choice institution(s).
It will be noted that the kind-hearted Ismail brought the news of Faith Akindele, who lost his father and care giver to the ill-fated 2021 massacre by Fulani herdsmen in Igangan. Due to his kindness, Faith currently enjoys OOF full scholarship. On this note, I especially thank Mr Ismail Adeshina, for his compassion and interest in human and community development. Your kindness follows you as goodness will always meet you. Amen.
I heartily congratulate the new members of OOF family, Taiwo and Kehinde Ominiyi. I believe your future is bright and clear. You will achieve greatness that your mother could not achieve and you will bring great joy to your father, your family, Ibarapa and humanity. Wipe your tears. You are stars that will shine!
