Group Pass Vote of Confidence on AOPE Governing Council Chairman
The Youth Advocacy for Better Governance and Administration (YABGA), Ibarapa Chapter has passed a vote of confidence on the Governing Council Chairman of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Prof Ogundiran Samuel, following the crisis on the removal of the acting rector, Mr Peter Adejumo.
The vote of confidence was communicated by the President of the group, Comrade Adeoye Samson on Tuesday while speaking with journalist on phone conversation.
Group President advocates for peace and stability in the institution so as not to tamper with the academic calendar for the academic session.
While speaking with our correspondent, said, a lot of things seems hidden in the whole crisis which is not obvious to each of the respective communities supporting his own people. He therefore appeal to all stakeholders involved to allow peace take its place in other to ensure unity amidst the host communities.
The spokesperson of the group said “there are many atrocities ascribed to the administration of the former acting rector, should we talk of the materials carted away from the permanent site of the institution, the replacement of dead staff without approval, just to mention few”
“It is selfishness if a single community wants to take everything, they should also tell their people to proceed with their academic push in other to be able to compete for any top position at any time”.
Adeoye further states that the position of the Governing Council is legal, in as much the acting management period has expired, the next person to take over is the deputy.
“A community can’t take everything since the school is not a private institution owned by the community but the state, claiming if the seven communities that makes up Ibarapa can share it all it should be able to cut across all the communities, if truly we claim Ibarapa is one we should be able to do things as one. On this note, we are passing a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Council Chairman for their efforts on bringing the school to limelight”, the spokesperson added.
