Former Student Activist, Exponent Declares for House of Assembly Race

A former Senate President of the Federation of Ibarapa Students Association (FIBSA), Comrade Ogunjimi Olugbenga Friday popularly known as Exponent has declared to contest for member of Oyo state House of Assembly under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party to represent Ibarapa Central/North Constituency.

Ogunjimi who made the official declaration on Sunday in his country home, Tapa, said we shouldn’t allow the tomorrow we were told many years ago to be history but a reality and not going there to answer the name honorable but to represent the youths and constituents.

In his declaration message made available to SpyGist Media which reads in part;

It is my joy to declare my intention to run for the post of State Assembly under the democrat party PDP

LEADERS OF TOMORROW

The tomorrow we were told about many years ago is now, thus, we shouldn’t allow it to be a history but a reality that it is. This is the time for us to rise and take action that will give birth to the better society we have all been craving for.

As we all know, a better society can never be achieved if we don’t learn and sacrifice what it needs, to ensure that there’s a transition in power for others to take over, and most importantly where the youths get the needed support from both their fellow youths/elder ones and become part of our problem solver by representing us at the helm of affairs, we must learn before taking a step, but not just wait and watch expecting to see ourselves at the helm of affairs and things get better miraculously.

Often times, I hear people saying that the youth are not given the chance, but what we’ve forgotten is that we cannot get it by wishful thinking but by learning from those who are there before us and taking action, let’s not forget that there’s no better chance than the bill of not too young to run that had been signed by federal government of Nigeria. Hence, after learning more about government and proper consultation, I’m taking a step as a youth to contest for a member to represent *Ibarapa Central/North State Constituency* in coming election “2023”.

I’m not going there to answer the title honorable member, but rather, I’m going there with my experience, idea and passion in empowering my fellow youths and others according to my strength which will curtail or minimize the high level of nefarious situation and giving birth to a better society for all of us to live in.

Today, I want to use this medium to call on all well-meaning youths to give me and other youths with love for a better society, the needed support so that we can collectively contribute to its betterment.

Let’s understand that the time of complaints is over; it’s now time to take action, I cannot do this alone but collectively we can by the grace of God.
