
A former President of the Southern Nigerian Youth Congress in Oyo State and Coordinator of NANS Southwest Zone, Comrade Tegbe Stephen Fiyinfoluwa has declared his intention to contest at the national level of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) as Vice President Special Duties.
In his declaration statement made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, Tegbe expressed his willingness to use the office to enhance education and empower youth.

I, Tegbe Stephen Fiyinfoluwa, proudly declare my ambition to serve as the National Vice President (Special Duties) of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). With a strong track record of leadership excellence, I am committed to championing the interests of Nigerian students.
As a seasoned unionist, student leader, and activist, I have consistently fought for students rights and interests, advocating for quality education and social justice. My leadership philosophy centers around servant leadership, empathy, and collective progress.
As a leader, Tegbe has held various positions, including Secretary and President of the Southern Nigerian Youth Congress, Oyo State Chapter, and Coordinator of NANS Southwest Zone D. I am currently serving as Director of Administration and Planning at NANS Headquarters, showcasing his organizational prowess.
My commitment to students welfare is unwavering. Tegbe has consistently prioritized their needs, fighting for their rights and interests. His leadership philosophy centers around creating an enabling environment for students to thrive.
Good governance is essential for achieving Tegbe vision for NANS. This includes promoting transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to students needs.
I believes that leaders should be accountable to those they serve and prioritize their welfare above personal interests.
The United Nations defines good governance as participatory, consensus oriented, accountable, transparent, responsive, effective, efficient, equitable, and inclusive. My leadership style reflects these principles, demonstrating his commitment to creating a better future for Nigerian students.
As National Vice President (Special Duties), i will establish and maintain effective relations with students professional organizations, assist them in realizing their programs, and perform duties assigned by the Congress, Senate, or President of NANS.
Tegbe movement, “Ideological Rebirth And Redirection Movement,” aims to unite Nigerian students and promote quality education. By supporting his vision, we can work together towards a brighter future for Nigerian students and the nation at large.
Effective leadership requires motivation, commitment, courage, and the ability to build consensus. Tegbe has demonstrated these qualities throughout his leadership journey, making him an ideal candidate for the National Vice President (Special Duties) position.
I will also work judiciously and thoroughly in accordance to the constitution, provided the responsibilities and duties of the Vice President (Special Duties) are explicitly stated in Article 9, Sub-section 2 of the constitution.
(i) Establish and maintain effective relations with students professional organizations
existing amongst members of NANS.
(ii) Assist such professional organizations to realize their programmes of activities.
(iii) Perform other functions as may be assigned from time to time by the Congress,
Senate or President of NANS.
