A former Leader of the house under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo State has dumped the party and defected to Accord Party.
Hon Afeez Oladimeji Yusuf who was the former house leader in Ibarapa East Local Government, together with his deputy and a Councillor announced the decision in Eruwa on Wednesday.

In his resignation letter which was made available to us reads in part, “Good day my progressive minded across the length and breadth of Ibarapa East Local Government. Haven critically examined the current political atmosphere in Oyo state and lack of internal democracy in the All Progressive Congress in the state, I Hon Afeez Oladimeji Yusuf have resigned my membership from APC. This is a toughest political decision I have ever made, but we have to make our stand known to the public that we are not part of the current political ship of the All Progressive Congress in the state that fails to upheld the principle of Justice, Peace and Unity in all their dealings. And where there’s no justice, there can never be peace not to talk of Unity.
“In the light of this, I thank all the party leaders, stakeholders and faithfuls for the opportunities and support given to me since the inception of APC. I wish myself and other members of the party good luck in all their future endeavors. God bless you all,” he added.
The politicians also said they decamped to Accord Party because they believed the people will benefit greatly from the party unlike the former.
