Emmanuel Alayande University Helmsman, ‘Lanre Olaniyan Felicitates Eid-el-Maulud With Muslims

The Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan has felicitated Muslim faithful and members of the University community on the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBU).

In a release made available by ‘Wale Adeoye, Media and Public Relations Officer, quoting the University Chief Executive Officer, “Eid-el-Maulud festival is highly symbolic to Muslim faithful. I congratulate all Muslims for the grace we all have to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBU). We thank Almighty Allah who gave us the Holy Prophet and particularly his teachings and leadership during his sojourn on terrestrial earth. As we celebrate, we must not forget the importance and lessons he taught us from the holy Quran. Let’s continue to uphold the teachings and virtues while carrying over the lessons into our conduct and relation with fellow human being. I implore Muslims and non-Muslims alike in the University to take advantage of this year’s celebration to offer special prayers for the peace, progress and development of our dear University, Oyo State and the country as a whole”.

Speaking further, the Eruwa-born Economist urged Islamic faithful to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Maulud celebration to further pray for the country as we continue our political journey. He charged members of the University community to shun acts capable of truncating the peace the University is known for as they pray to Almighty Allah during the Eid-el-Maulud.

The University helmsman further admonished the entire Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo family to use the occasion of this year celebration to re-dedicate and re- engineer themselves and always toe the path of progress for the University and equally reciprocate the good gesture of the Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde- led- administration in the state as ‘one good turn deserves another.’
