
Family members of Precious Ikpihumi, a murdered three hundred level student of the Institute of Health Technology of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, have called on well meaning Nigerians to help in ensuring that one John Aipoh was brought to Justice over her murder.
In a protest to the Edo State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the family members were demanding swift justice in the face of allegation that the culprit was set to be set free.
The family members of precious Ikpihumi, a twenty four old student of the institute of health technology of the University of Benin teaching hospital, UBTH who was murdered by her male friend after she called off their relationship.
According to her elder brother Frank Ikpihumi and other family members who protested to the premises of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Precious was declared missing for about three weeks from May 1, before her body was discovered at an uncompleted building around the Saint Patrick axis of Ugbowo in Benin city.
The family members demanded swift justice for her murder after the male friend John Aipoh who was arrested by the police confessed to the crime.
The Edo state Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, Kontongs Bello confirmed the arrest of the suspect John Aipoh but debunked the rumour flying around that the suspect was set to be granted bail.
The Edo state commissioner of police, Abutu Yaro however called for calm as necessary action will be taken to ensure that justice is served.
