EACOD Students’ Representative Council Honours Chairman, OYHA Commission And Former Oyo House Deputy Speaker, Abdulwasi Musah
The Students’ Representative Council, legislative arm of the Students’ Union, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo has honoured the Chairman, Oyo State House of Assembly Commission, Hon. Dr. AbdulWasi Musah for his exemplary public leadership service.
The award was presented on behalf of the house leadership by the Speaker, Hon. Kayode Samuel Ogunwusi. In his speech during the presentation, the Honourable Speaker states, “I am glad to be here today with my Director of Protocol, Hon. Amusat AbdulAzeez Adeleke and particularly our Special Assistant on Media Matters to the College Ag. Provost and former Secretary to the Students’ Union, St. Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo (now Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo) 1997/98 Session, Mr. Wale Adeoye. I must put on record that available records recognized your performances at the Students’ Union Parliament in 1996/97 Session when you served as Honourable Member representing School of Languages constituency. We are glad to associate with you today on the giant strides you have recorded in the Oyo State polity as a former Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly and currently as the Chairman, Oyo State House of Assembly Commission. On behalf of all parliamentarians in the SRC, SUG, EACOED, I present this award to you in recognition of your exemplary public leadership service.”
In his short remarks, the awardee, Hon. Dr. AbdulWasi Musah thanked the leadership of the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo Students’ Representative Council for the recognition and the award. According to the legal giant cum politician, “Today my joy knows no bounds as I am recognized by my root. I thank the Speaker, SRC, Hon. Kayode Ogunwusi and his fellow parliamentarians for this great award. Honestly, Comrade Wale Adeoye would bear me witness that the Students’ Union, SACOED prepared us for all we are doing now. We started there and put in all our best in our services to our fellow students. We enjoyed it and we learnt lots of lessons then. I thank God for everything. I urge you as student leaders to be focused and see the College as a training ground. Do not lose focus as I hope you shall rise even beyond where we are. On behalf of my wife, children and particularly, distinguished members of the Oyo State House of Assembly Commission, I appreciate this award. It is indeed huge. Thank you and thank you” he submitted.
The Chairman, Oyo State House of Assembly Commission, Hon. Dr. AbdulWasi Musah was supported by the Commission’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Akinlade Olagoke Olakunle; Commissioner 1, Mr. Moses Ojoawo; Commissioner 3, Hon. Hassan Ogundoke; Commissioner 4, Hon. Adekunle Alabanla while the Special Assistant on Media Matters to the College Ag. Provost and former Secretary to the Students’ Union, St. Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo (now Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo) 1997/98 Session, Mr. Wale Adeoye who served in the 1996/97 parliament with Dr. AbdulWasi Musah led the Speaker, Hon.
