DR RASAQ ADEFABI: CROSSING THE RUBICON WITH A RENEWED STRENGTH

“The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves.” — Steven Spielberg

The good words Succinctly put together by eminent people of repute in your honor has further validated the strong belief I have in you. You are an inspiration, an astute lover of Peace and a learned administrator.

I have tried in my little way to bind words together, of course as a form of honor from my own end too, but my emotions has failed me, woefully. The more I write, the more I get carried away with more words and memories to include too.In the end, it just resulted to a deadlock, and it is a reflection that your good actions and good heart can not be wrapped up just by words.

This little one that I have displayed here is just a necessity, borne out of my very strong will to eventually come up with something, no matter how short.

Your kind heart, strong disposition to the matters of the Students Union and remarkable innovations and achievements you brought to the College in the last eight years can not be forgotten in multiple years to come. And of course, it is contingent upon the fact that you have touched our hearts, and it will be vehemently impossible to forget those sweet memories just so soon.

It is of course often said that we have to let go of our loved ones at times when the bond is growing stronger and bigger, and indeed, this is one of such moments too. Accept my warmest regards sir. Thank you for being a blessing to mankind, and a sponsor of prolific ideas; to me, and other numerous people who have passed through your tutelage. Truly, it’s an adventure worth Celebrating.

On the final note, as you cross the rubicon and bow out with honour, celebrations, enomiums and undaunted best wishes, I wish you the very best as more of the greatness of the future beckons on you.

My e pluribus unum, accept my best wishes sir.

Boluwatife Oluwafisayo,

Former Students’ Union President, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo
