A gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, has received the prestigious Omoluabi Award by the Yoruba Council of Youth Worldwide (YCYW) on Saturday, at the Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Ibadan.
The award ceremony which gathered notable personalities, royal fathers, community leaders, youth representatives, amongst various stakeholders celebrate individuals who embody the Omoluabi spirit, characterized by integrity, hard work, and a commitment to societal development.
This recognition is part of the newly launched Omoluabi 3.0, aimed at promoting exemplary leadership and moral values among the youth, an initiative of the Oyo State Chapter of the Yoruba Council of Youth Worldwide.
Dr. Kareem, represented by Alhaji Wahabi Oseni, the Aare Jagunmolu Adinni of Wabillahi Taofeek Worldwide said the award is a testament to the collective efforts of everyone working towards uplifting the community.
Known for his impactful contributions to education and youth mentorship, expressed gratitude for the award, Kareem stated “This award is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the collective efforts of everyone working towards uplifting our communities. I dedicate this honor to all the young people who strive daily to make a difference.”

The Omoluabi 3.0 initiative, launched by the Yoruba Council of Youth Worldwide (YCYW), seeks to inspire the next generation by highlighting the importance of ethical leadership, social responsibility and cultural impacts. The council emphasized that the program will include workshops, mentorship opportunities, and community service projects designed to equip youth with the skills necessary to navigate today’s challenges.
As the Omoluabi 3.0 initiative unfolds, the Yoruba Council of Youth Worldwide aims to foster a new generation that is not only aware of their cultural roots but also equipped to drive positive change in society.
The ceremony also featured performances by local artists and speeches from prominent figures in the community, underscoring the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people and the importance of nurturing future leaders.
