Bauchi Disturbances: 24 hours Curfew Imposed As Two Persons Killed, Four Injured
Crisis has rocked Yelwan Tsakani, Lukshi and Unguwan Kusu in Bauchi state North East Nigeria, two person were Confirmed killed, four persons sustained various degrees of injuries, with at least five Houses set ablaze.
According to some residents, the disturbance emanated following a youths rivalry in the area.
The incident started at about 10pm on Friday night according to the residents.
It was said to be a fight of rivalry among youths in the community. Which led to the lost of lives, destruction of residential apartments.
This morning, the residents of this communities mostly women and children were seen packing their belongings to unknown destinations for safety.
Despite security presence in the areas to douse down the situations, the angry youths were seen in different locations as police operatives were chasing them.
The Bauchi state Commissioner of police Umar Sanda and others security operatives has moved to scene of crisis appealed for calm and announced impose 24 hours curfew directed by Bauchi Government promise immediate implementation.
He said, discreet investigation have been ordered to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.
