Atiku Abubakar Wins PDP Presidential Ticket

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has emerged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He defeated seven other aspirants to win the ticket by polling 371 votes at the party’s national convention held at the National Stadium, Abuja.

Nyesom Wike, scored 237 votes while former Senate President, Bukola Saraki got 70 votes.

Udom Emmanuel scored 38 votes while Bala Muhammed got 20 votes, Anyim Pius Anyim has 14 votes, Sam Ohuambunwa got 1 vote while Oliver Diana has 1 vote and fourteen voided votes recorded.

A total of 774 delegates were accredited to vote at the convention.

Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President will now face the candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the 2023 Presidential election.

Former Senate President, Senator David Mark GCON declared His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar.
