An Epitome of Humility: Hon Abimbola Daniel Kolade

Hon Abimbola Daniel Kolade is a diligent, hardworking and principled leader whose legacies and achievements in the areas of human development and capacity building during the past few years as Oyo State Commissioner in four ministries has continued to attract many admirers and followers to him.

The Fiditi born Oyo State Politician is an epitome of humility, he radiates love and affection towards people around him.

Prior to  his appointment as Commissioner in 2011, he was an accomplished Builder at Tower Aluminum Nig.PLC, building products division where he rose to become the sales and marketing manager and the most senior Nigerian within the establishment.

While in Tower he handled the roofing of Muritala Muhammed Airport (MMA2) and Dangote cement plant at Obajana. He left Tower Aluminum to establish his own company DAK Roofing Systems Ltd where he is the Chairman of this solution oriented company.

– He was recently elected as the 3rd Vice President of the Nigerian Institute of Building Association in Nigeria.

– Served on the technical committee for the establishment of First Technical University Ibadan oh led by Prof Dapo Afolabi.

– Member, Oyo State Education Policy Review panel that established the schools governing board system in Oyo state.

– Member Oyo State Economic Management Team;  as member of the Oyo State Economic Management Team, was part of the team that traveled with Governor Ajimobi on various trade mission outside the country. This birthed the establishment of the following companies in Oyo State;

i. Karma Milk Industries. The only Soya Oil and Milk production company in Nigeria.

ii.  Agrited Ltd, a company that is producing 250,000 day old chicks. The biggest of such in Nigeria.

iii. My Joy Bread. The biggest of such bread bakery in Nigeria.

– He currently serves as the Federal Commissioner representing Oyo State under the Revenue Mobilization Fiscal Commission in Abuja.

Here are some of his accomplishment in his service to humanity;

Ministry Of Agriculture, (August 2011-October 2012.)

i. Employed 165 young graduates as Agricultural Extension Officer.

ii. Established the Silo in Awe junction, Oyo.

iii. Established six (6) new dams to make the total number of dams for agriculture in the state to be 22 (twenty two).

iv. Developed high yield Maize seedlings. Increase yield per acre from 0.7 tons to 1.6 tons.

v. Revamped Fashola day-old chicks incubator, producing 15,000 day old chicks been sold up to Anambra state.

vi. Facilitated distribution of tractors to all local government in the states.

vii. Made Oyo State a major part of Goodluck Jonathan administration Agriculture Transformation Agenda under Dr Akinwumi Adesina, now MD AfDB.

Ministry of Lands. (October 2012 to September 2013.)

i. Facilitated the construction of Olives Courts Estate with UPDC at Agodi GRA.

ii. Facilitated the construction of 54 housing units in transformation estates opposite Aramed hospital on Lagos/Ibadan expressway. Now being used as hostel for First Technical University students.

iii. Facilitated the construction of housing units by HFP at Agodi GRA and Elenusonso.

iv. Allocated the land for the construction of First Technical University and Kola Daisi University both in Ibadan.

v. Started the Digitalisation of issuance of C of O, therefore making it possible for people to obtain C of O within 90 days.

Ministry of Works. (February 2014 to May 2015)

Saw to the completion and commissioning of the following dualized road projects;

i. Eleyele-Onireke-Dugbe road which spur to Agbarigo.

ii. Challenge-Toll gate road.

iii. Apete Bridge and the road from Poly-Ijokodo-Apete road.

iv. Takie- Palace-Osogbo road, with extension to express in Ogbomoso.

v. Iseyin township road, Iseyin.

vi. Oyo township road, Oyo.

vii. Mobil- Oluyole – Apata road and 52 other roads round the state.

Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
(June 2016 to May 2019).

i. Facilitated the establishment of 35 Local Council Development Areas.

ii. Facilitated promotion and coronation  of several Oba’s in the state.

iii. Facilitated the construction of over 500km roads throughout the LGAs in the state.

iv. Facilitated the take off of the First Technical University with students in 2016.

Gave Scholarships to indigent Oyo students studying in higher institutions.

Purchase of NECO/SSCE, and JAMB forms and subsequent tutorial training for  indigent students.

Provision of  welfare support to the less privileged and women empowerment.
