Akala was Renowned for His stalwartness”, Okanlawon Mourns Former Governor Alao Akala
The founder of Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) and aspirant for 2023 Federal House of Representative for Ibarapa Central/North Constituency, Engr (Dr) David Olusegun Okanlawon has condoled with the Alao Akala’s family, people of Ogbomoso land and Oyo state in general, over the demise of the former Governor, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala.
Akala, former Governor of Oyo and party leader of All Progressive Congress in Oyo state, died on Wednesday in his hometown.
In a condolence message sent to SpyGist Media on Wednesday, Okanlawon expressed his condolences to Akalas, people of Ogbomoso, indigenes of Oyo state and the progressive family, he prayed for the repose of his soul.
Okanlawon said, “With a heavy heart, I commiserate with the family of Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala, indigenes of Ogbomosho and the good people of Oyo State over the demise of our former Governor.
“Late Otunba Akala was renowned for his stalwartness while serving as the Governor of Oyo State.
“Ibarapa region also enjoyed laudable projects during his tenure. Founded during his tenure as the Governor, the Oyo State College of Agriculture in Igboora remains a pivotal institution providing capacity building for our youths and employment for hundreds of working class indigenes and residents of Oyo State. Locating the institution in Ibarapa shows the extent to which Otunba Akala shunned bigotry.
“Other projects, impacts and blueprints from his administration remain across Oyo State as testaments to his astuteness. Years after his tenure, his legacies still breathe in our minds.
He described the loss as “terrible and shocking”, condoled with all the lovers of Alao Akala, political party, Oyo state people at large, as he prayed for God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
