To: Southwest Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
From: The Affinity Group of PDP

Subject: Urgent Concerns and Recommendations Regarding the State of PDP in Lagos State

Dear Esteemed Southwest Excos,

We pen this memorandum with a sense of deep concern and urgency regarding the current state of affairs within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State. As members of The Affinity Group of PDP, we have observed with growing apprehension the numerous challenges and obstacles that are impeding the progress and success of our party in the state. It is with a heavy heart that we bring these issues to your attention, in the hope that together we can devise effective strategies to address them and revitalize the party’s standing in Lagos State.

Leadership Crisis:
One of the most pressing issues facing the PDP in Lagos State is the dearth of effective and visionary leadership. The absence of strong leadership has resulted in internal discord, lack of cohesion, leaders that turn dealers and a sense of disillusionment among party members. Without capable and trust worthy leaders at the helm, the party is unable to articulate a clear and compelling vision for the future or mobilize its supporters effectively. This leadership vacuum has allowed opportunistic individuals to exploit the situation for their own gain, further exacerbating the party’s woes.

Jandor’s Acclaimed Leadership:
The emergence of self-proclaimed leaders such as Jandor has only served to deepen the crisis within the PDP in Lagos State. While purporting to champion the interests of the party, these individuals are driven by personal ambition rather than genuine commitment to the party’s ideals and objectives. Their divisive tactics and propensity for political brinkmanship have sown discord within the party ranks, undermining unity and cohesion. Moreover, their unchecked influence threatens to overshadow the legitimate leadership structures of the PDP, thereby eroding the party’s credibility and integrity in the eyes of the electorate.

Legal Challenges from Aeroland:
Another significant obstacle confronting the PDP in Lagos State is the legal challenges posed by Aeroland. The decision of Aeroland to take the party to court represents a serious threat to our collective efforts to consolidate and strengthen our position in the state. Legal battles not only drain valuable resources but also distract the party from its primary mission of serving the interests of the people. It is imperative that we address these legal challenges with urgency and resolve, in order to safeguard the party’s integrity and protect its electoral prospects.

In light of these challenges, we urge the Southwest Executive Committee to take decisive action to remedy the situation and put the PDP back on the path to success in Lagos State. Specifically, we recommend the following course of action:

Fostering Unity and Cohesion: The Southwest Excos must take proactive steps to foster unity and cohesion within the party ranks. This entails promoting dialogue, consensus-building, and inclusivity, while marginalizing divisive elements that seek to sow discord and disunity.

Reaffirming Party Leadership: It is imperative that the Southwest Excos reaffirm the legitimate leadership structures of the PDP in Lagos State and assert their authority over self-proclaimed leaders like Jandor. This may require disciplinary measures or sanctions against individuals who undermine the party’s unity and integrity.

Legal Defense Strategy: The Southwest Excos should work closely with legal experts to devise a robust defense strategy to counter the legal challenges posed by Aeroland. This may involve seeking out-of-court settlements, mounting vigorous legal defenses, or exploring alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to resolve the matter expediently.

Strategic Planning for Electoral Success: In parallel with addressing internal challenges, the Southwest Excos must engage in strategic planning for the upcoming elections. This includes developing comprehensive campaign strategies, mobilizing grassroots support, and leveraging the party’s strengths to maximize electoral success in Lagos State.

In conclusion, the challenges facing the PDP in Lagos State are formidable, but not insurmountable. With visionary leadership, strategic planning, and collective action, we can overcome these obstacles and reclaim our rightful place as the preeminent political force in the state. The Affinity Group of PDP stands ready to support and collaborate with the Southwest Excos in this endeavor, and we look forward to working together towards a brighter future for our party and the people of Lagos State.

Thank you for your attention to these urgent matters.

Sincerely,
The Affinity Group of PDP
