30 Years After: Zachaeus Oyesola Adeoye Children Remember Late Father

The wife of the late union activist and teacher, Comrade Zachaeus Oyesola Adeoye, Mrs. Rachael Omotayo Adeoye on Saturday, November 19, 2022 led her children and family members before the Lord to commemorate the 30th anniversary thanksgiving in honour of her late husband.

According to one of the children of the deceased, Wale Adeoye, “The event which was held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Wakajaye, Ibadan and anchored by the presiding clergy, Pastor Olajide Joseph afforded mama and her children the opportunity to speak about the greatness of God for over 30 years that late Adeoye answered the glorious call.” Speaking at the event, the eldest son of the deceased, Pastor Kayode Adeoye gave glory to God for keeping the family together. “I want to thank God for the rare gift of unity in our family. It has been a major factor and we thank God for His steadfastness and love for us. We thank God for our mother, Mrs. Omotayo Adeoye who gave us all her best to see us to where we are. Indeed, she is a mother in millions and we give glory to God for standing by her. E ma tunbo jeun omo pe l’oruko Jesu. We have simply come to return all glory back to God Almighty. May our supplications be accepted in Jesus mighty name”, he prayed.

Comrade Zachaeus Oyesola Adeoye during his time was a renowned teacher and NUT activist. He taught in several schools in Oyo State among which were Onireke High School, Links Reservation, Sabo, Ibadan and Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan where he died on Monday, November 16, 1992 in a road accident while on a meeting to the Teachers’ House, Ring-Road, Ibadan during the NUT 1992 struggle. He is survived by his charming wife, Mama Omotayo Adeoye, glorious children and now grandchildren.
